Wayward truck kills 5

MANILA, Philippines - A pregnant woman and four scavengers were killed when a wayward dump truck rammed into them at a dump in Rodriguez, Rizal yesterday.

The victims, one of them identified as Gina Arisga, 40, did not reach the Amang Rodriguez Medical Center in Marikina City alive.

Police arrested the truck driver, Danilo Sukaldito, 53, who said he lost control of the vehicle.

Reports said the victims were scavenging at a dump in Sitio Lukutang Maliit, Barangay San Isidro when the tragedy took place at around 1 p.m. yesterday.  – Non Alquitran
