Jail guard shot dead in Lucena
LUCENA CITY , Philippines – A provincial jail guard was declared dead by the attending physician yesterday while undergoing treatment at the St. Anne Hospital here, after he was shot by two unidentified assailants at Bayabas street on Friday.
Police Superintendent Pascual Muñoz identified the victim as Michael Salvaleon, 34, married, provincial guard and currently residing at the abovementioned place.
Police said that around 9 a.m., Friday, the victim, was dressing one piece of chicken for their lunch when the suspects on board a Honda Wave motorcycle stopped in front of the victim then drew their .45 caliber and shot Salvaleon on his organ.
The suspects immediately fled after the incident while manhunt operation was conducted by lawmen. – Michelle Zoleta
