2 nabbed in drug den raid in Batangas
BATANGAS, Philippines – Two suspected drug pushers were arrested when elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) swooped down on a drug den in Lemery town Saturday morning, officials said.
Chief Inspector Chris Abrajano, PDEA-Region 4-A chief, identified the suspects as Arnold de Silva, alias Banker, and Ernesto Lo III, both residents of Barangay Maligaya, Lemery.
Six other people who were present at the drug den during the raid were invited for questioning and would be subjected to drug tests.
Seized from the suspects were at least 10 grams of suspected shabu individually packed in plastic sachets.
Police said De Silva and Lo were allegedly responsible for the supply of shabu in Lemery, Calaca and Taal towns.
“With the cooperation of the people and the strong will to get rid of this menace in their community, we were able to arrest them successfully,” Abrajano said.
Abrajano said the two suspects are detained at the PDEA office at Camp Vicente Lim in Cabuyao, Laguna while cases of violation of Republic Act 9165 are being readied against them.
The Batangas police and the Regional Mobile Group assisted the PDEA in the raid. – With Ed Amoroso
