Suspect in Laoag lawyer's slay falls

Bangued, Abra , Philippines  – After almost 10 months in hiding, the alleged killer of Laoag City legal officer Jose “Pepoc” Pastor was finally arrested.

Efren Alagao, 33, was nabbed by Ilocos Norte and Abra policemen in Barangay Siblong in Bucay, Abra last Saturday.

Various groups in Ilocos Norte, including Pastor’s colleagues in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, have been calling on authorities to immediately put an end to the endless killings in Abra.

Pastor was killed in his office on Dec. 18 last year.   – Artemio Dumlao
