Guam National Guard joins Luzon relief work

-

ANGELES CITY , Philippines  – The Guam National Guard has joined other international groups extending relief and humanitarian assistance in areas in northern Luzon heavily affected by typhoon “Pepeng,” the Armed Forces’ Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom) said yesterday.

The 19-man Guamanian group, led by Lt. Col. Hoa Nguyen, arrived yesterday at the Nolcom headquarters at Camp Aquino in Tarlac City for a briefing on the situation in Pangasinan, particularly in the towns of Urbiztondo, Basista, Sta. Barbara and Bugallon where it plans to conduct relief and other operations, said Col. Gerard Velez, Nolcom operations officer.

“These municipalities will be the focus of their free medical and dental mission that will be conducted in cooperation with the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” Velez said.     – Ding Cervantes
