2 members of robbery, holdup gang arrested

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga , Philippines   – Two of three members of a highway robbery-holdup group preying on travelers along the North Luzon Expressway were arrested by Bulacan police during a follow-up operation in Dasmariñas, Cavite, police said yesterday. 

Chief Superintendent Leon Nilo de la Cruz, Central Luzon police director, said the arrest of the robbers was made possible through an agreement between the Bulacan Police Provincial Office and officials of the NLEX to strengthen security on travelers along the expressway during a “strategy meeting” recently.

On Wednesday night, three thieves held up a northbound 5 Star air-conditioned bus along the NLEX.      – Ric Sapnu
