Robbers cart away ATM from gas station
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – Can’t get cash from an automated teller machine (ATM)? Why not take the entire thing?
This was what 15 heavily armed men in five cars did when they carted away the ATM of Philippine Savings Bank from a convenience store at a Total gasoline station along the North Luzon Expressway in Apalit town this province at around 2 a.m. yesterday.
Police could not say how much cash the ATM contained.
The armed men, clad in fatigue uniforms and bearing “SAGSDI” and “Bitag” identification cards, arrived at the Bonjour convenience store on board five cars – a white Mitsubishi L-300, silver Toyota Revo, white Toyota Corolla, white Toyota Revo, and red Nissan Urban – whose license plates were noted down.
Chief Superintendent Leon Nilo de la Cruz, Central Luzon police director, said he has ordered a massive manhunt for the robbers.
Earlier, robbers also took an ATM from a gasoline station in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The machine was later found in Pangasinan. – Ding Cervantes, Ric Sapnu
