Alleged guns-for-hire killed in ambush

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines  – Three members of a gun-for-hire group operating in Quezon province were killed by two armed men riding in tandem in what the police described as “revenge” in an ambush along the boundary of Barangay Malabanban Sur, Candelaria, Quezon and San Juan road, Batangas, Wednesday afternoon.

PO2 Redentor de Ramos, Candelaria investigator, identified the fatalities as Abraham Dagli Coronel, 20, Sosimo Ilagan and Roselito Ebora, 43, all residents of Barangay Mangalang, Sariaya, Quezon. They were declared dead on arrival by doctors at the Candelaria provincial hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds.

In a phone interview, De Ramos said Coronel’s group were on board a Honda XRM ( D0-7762) enroute to San Juan, Batangas when they were blocked by two unidentified gunmen armed with 9mm and .45 caliber pistols successively firing at them. The assassins immediately escaped towards Batangas province.
