Lucena City, Philippines – Various high-powered firearms were seized from the residence of a Fil-Chinese by members of the National Bureau of Investigation together with police operatives at Purok Ibaba, Barangay Dalahican, this city, on Thursday afternoon.
According to police reports, about 5 p.m. elements of Lucena Police Station under Police Superintendent Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan and NBI-Lucena Chief Jerry Avierra implemented the search warrant issued by Judge Honorio Guanlao Jr. of RTC Branch 29 of San Pablo City against Manuel Sio and Antonio Sio at their residence.
The operation at the said house, yielded high-powered firearms – one unit pistol, two magazines with 24 bullets, five shotguns with 12 gauge magazines, 12 rounds of 9mm bullets, 15 rounds of shotgun bullets, one unit cobray .9mm machine pistol with two magazines with 40 bullets, one armalite with two short and one long magazines, 50 rounds of 5.56 bullets, one Bersa with one magazine and 11 bullets, one para ordinance .45 caliber with one magazine and five bullets and one pistol.
The Sios were brought to the Office of the City Prosecutor in this city for proper inquest proceedings in violation of RA 8294 (illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions). – Michelle Zoleta
