Quezon vice mayor shot

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – Vice Mayor Arsenio Prudente of Panukulan, Quezon was shot by two unidentified males while resting in his house at Sitio Sapang Bato, Barangay San Juan, this municipality, yesterday morning.

Police Senior Superintendent Elmo Francis Sarona, Quezon police director said that around 10:22 a.m. a telephone call was received from a concerned citizen saying Prudente was shot by two unidentified suspects with short firearms but failed to hit the target. After the incident, the suspects immediately escaped and fled to unknown direction.

Police investigators recovered from the scene of the crime one empty shell and one short magazine with eight live ammunitions of a .45 caliber.

Sarona said they are looking for all the possible reasons for the attemp on the vice mayor’s life. – Michelle Ozaeta
