'Possessed' pa kills 9-year-old son

CAUAYAN CITY, Philippines – An allegedly possessed 43-year-old tricycle driver from Barangay Mabantad here killed his nine-year-old boy by slitting his throat Friday. 

The suspect was identified in the report as Robert Galiza, who had allegedly come from a gathering when he saw the demon appear before him while on the way back home.

This alleged appearance of the devil, reports further indicated, had seemed to possess the suspect, causing him to lose his senses. Upon arriving home, he reportedly suddenly hit his wife.

Village officials who came to the rescue brought the suspect to the police for safekeeping. However, the police reportedly decided to release him after he acted normally. – Charlie Lagasca
