Lanao village head, 2 others freed

MANILA, Philippines – A barangay chairman in Lanao del Sur and two others were released by their abductors last Saturday night after four days in captivity.

Freed were Saidali Taher Pacalna, chairman of Barangay Ingud Poblacion, Tugaya town; businessman Haimie Saidali, and Rosalainie Saidali Baute, who were seized along the Narciso Ramos Highway in Balindong town last April 21.

Police believe a personal grudge motivated the abduction. A manhunt is ongoing against the suspects, identified as Hadji Samad Pandi Kiram Mangacop, Nasser Wallah Langco, Jamal Mangotara and seven others. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
