PAF pilot killed, 4 hurt in mishap

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – A Philippine Air Force (PAF) pilot died and four others were hurt when their Honda Civic slammed into an electric post along the highway here before dawn yesterday, police said.

Senior Superintendent Fidel Posadas, Quezon police director, identified the fatality as Capt. Maricris Aguilar Peñalosa, 33, and those hurt as Lt. Roy Valdez, 2nd Lt. Rogelio Umbao, T/Sgt. Edwin Cortales and S/Sgt. Larry Guimo. Police said the victims had just come from a birthday party when they met the accident. – Arnell Ozaeta
