Laborer stabbed to death

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – A construction worker was stabbed to death by a lotto collector after an altercation aggravated by drunkenness at Sitio Tiis, Purok Masigla, Barangay Gulang-gulang this city, on Saturday. Both victim and suspect were drunk.

Police Superintendent Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, chief of Lucena Police Station identified the victim as Rodito Cantos, 57, widower, construction worker, while the suspect was identified as Rogelio Par, lotto collector, both residing at Barangay Gulang-gulang.

Police said that around 8:30 p.m., Cantos and Par while having a drinking spree inside the house of the suspect had a heated argument. At this juncture, the suspect drew a kitchen knife and suddenly attacked and stabbed Cantos.  – Michelle Zoleta
