MANILA, Philippines - Police called on experts and concerned agencies to help them hunt down an estimated 25-foot long crocodile, which killed a 10-year-old girl in Agusan del Sur last week.

CARAGA director Chief Superintendent Jaime Milla said there should be concerted effort in locating the crocodile to prevent any tragedy in the future.

Local authorities have been hunting down an estimated 25-foot long crocodile that killed a 10-year-old girl at Lake Mihaba, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur on March 7.

Milla assured that the regional, provincial and local police would assist in tracking down the dangerous reptile.

He called on Rufino Miranda, assistant Protected Area Superintendent of Integrated Protected Area System to provide the necessary support and allocate or release funds in conducting information drive among the locals as well as in barricading the area, and for the early capture of the crocodile and be brought to a crocodile sanctuary to prevent additional victims.

Police said the headless remains of 10-year-old Rowena Romano was found floating at Mahiba Lake, San Marcos, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, three days after the incident.
