Another anti-BNPP rally slated

MANILA, Philippines - Hundreds of residents of Morong, Bataan are set to hold another rally on Friday against the planned revival of the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP).

Balanga Bishop Socrates Villegas will lead a Mass at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Pillar Church to kick off the rally, according to a statement on the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines’ website.

Villegas earlier had warned that bigger rallies would be staged should the government insist on reactivating the BNPP. – Helen Flores
