Another Isabela village chief slain

ILAGAN, Isabela, Philippines – Another village chief in the province was killed – the 12th in the past two years – while attending a wake in Alicia town last Sunday night, police said.

Chief Inspector Renato Birung, Alicia deputy police chief, said Barangay Sikat chairman Eleuterio Villasana, 46, was shot twice in the head, while a certain Marlon Velasco was wounded in the foot and abdomen. – Charlie Lagasca
