Inventory of Central Luzon logs, lumber stocks on

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) yesterday ordered a complete inventory of logs and lumber stocks in Central Luzon as part of the intensified anti-illegal logging campaign of the newly created Environmental Law Enforcement Task Force.

This, as the task force recently seized 659,000 board feet of illegally sourced lumber from two lumber and hardware supply stores in Pampanga and Nueva Ecija.

Antonio Principe, the DENR’s regional executive director, said the inventory would cover lumber dealer stores, sash factories, sawmill and re-saw operators, and other forestry permit, license and lease holders, including those with long-term tenurial instruments from the DENR. – Katherine Adraneda
