KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – A prominent trader in nearby T’boli town in South Cotabato province was killed after he was ambushed and shot several times by three unidentified men while driving his motorcycle toward his piggery in a remote village there on Sunday morning.
Senior Superintendent Robert Kiunisala, police director of South Cotabato, said Felix Sulpico, 35, married, and a prominent businessman in T’boli, died at past 8 a.m. Sunday.
He suffered several bullet wounds in different parts of the body that caused his untimely death, Kiunisala said.
He was ambushed by the three suspects, who stood at the roadside and all armed with automatic pistols, in a remote part of Barangay Talcon of the said town.
“Papunta siya sa kanyang piggery at pagdating niya sa Purok 1 ng Barangay Talcon bigla na lang siyang pinagbabaril ng tatlong mga lalaki na nakatayo sa tabi ng daan,” Kiunisala told The STAR in a long distance interview yesterday.
After shooting the victim, the suspects immediately fled on foot toward an unknown direction in the said village.
Sulpico owned several establishments and a big piggery in T’boli town.
