Quake jolts parts of southern Luzon

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 2.4 tectonic earthquake jolted parts of Southern Tagalog yesterday but there were no reported damage or injuries, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum said the tremor struck at 8:11 a.m. with its epicenter traced at 17 kilometers northeast of Tagaytay City.

The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Lipa City and Los Baños, Laguna; Intensity 2 in Calamba, Laguna and Sto. Tomas, Batangas; and Intensity 1 in Tanauan City.   – Helen Flores
