New Central Command chief named

An Army general who led operations against wayward elements of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in North Cotabato and Maguindanao was named the new commander of the Armed Forces Central Command (Centcom), which has jurisdiction over the entire Visayas.
Maj. Gen. Armand Cunanan, former chief of the military’s Eastern Mindanao Command, replaced Lt. Gen. Pedro Ike Inserto, who retired after reaching the mandatory age of 56.
Cunanan’s successor at the Eastmincom was not immediately known. – James Mananghaya
