BUTUAN CITY – Two government militiamen were wounded when suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels swooped down on their detachment in Marihatag, Surigao del Sur last Saturday afternoon, police said.

The wounded militiamen, identified as Herardo Martecion and Manuel Aru, were immediately rushed to the Marihatag District Hospital for treatment.
