DPWH pushes P132.7M infra projects in Aurora

BALER, Aurora – Twenty six infrastructure projects with aggregate costs of P132.7 million, have been undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways in the province.

Angel Beltran, assistant district engineer of the DPWH Aurora District Engineering Office, told The STAR that of the projects, 16 are now ongoing, costing P70.3 million, eight have been completed amounting to P32.4 million while two have not yet been started worth P30 million.

Of the projects, funded under the DPWH 2008 Infrastructure Program, 13 have been identified by Rep. Juan Edgardo Angara, eight are regular DPWH projects and five are under the first batch of the schoolbuilding program of the Department of Education.

Engineer Ric Gutierrez, chief of the DPWH-Aurora’s construction division said that in some of the projects, they have encountered some slippage because the Special Allotment Release Orders have not yet been released, because of failure of biddings and the weather conditions.

The ongoing projects include concreting of the P23.5-million Baler-Cemento via Dicaloyungan Road, the P6.5-million Baler-Cemento section of the Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road, the P20-million Diteki bridge and Diteki section of the Baler-Bongabon Road, construction of the P2.7-million Real Bridge in San Luis, the P1-million flood control of the Malopa River from Barangay Sta. Lucia to Barangay Ramada in Ma. Aurora and the P750,000 concreting of the Bagong-San Jose Road.

Completed projects are the P20-million improvement and concreting of the Dingalan National Road, the P2-million new district engineering office of the DPWH in Barangay Reserva, the P5-million concreting of the access road to the Dr. Juan Angara Airport in San Isidro, the P2-million, four-classroom schoolbuilding in Galintuja Primary School in Ma. Aurora and the water system in Barangay Zarah, San Luis worth P350,000.
