Customs at Cebu port surpasses monthly target anew
Bureau of Customs-Port of Cebu district collector Ricardo Belmonte reported that they have surpassed their monthly collection target for the eighth time in September.
For September, Belmonte said his office was obligated to collect P440 million, but they went beyond this target and had collections totaling close to P447.5 million.
The figures showed that the Port of Cebu exceeded its assigned target by as much as P7.49 million or 1.7 percent.
From January to September, Belmonte said they had contributed P4.1 billion to the BOC coffers, compared to its goal of P3.7 billion, or an increase of P391.9 billion or 10.56 percent.
In January, the Port of Cebu was given a target of P350 million but its actual collection reached P415 million; while in February, it collected P387 million, surpassing its goal of P330 million.
In March, the Port of Cebu collected P393 million vis-à-vis its target of P400 million.
The Port of Cebu again exceeded its collection target in April by generating P480 million, surpassing its goal of P420 million.
The next three months also marked a good performance by the Port of Cebu: June – actual collection of P496 million vis-à-vis its P450-million target; July – actual collection of P509.993 million vis-à-vis its P430-million target; and August – actual collection of P514.728 million vis-a-vis its P450-million target.
