2 NPAs slain in Davao clash

Two New People’s Army (NPA) rebels were killed while a soldier was wounded when government forces clashed with some 20 insurgents in Davao Oriental yesterday.
Maj. Armand Rico, spokesman of the Armed Forces Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom), said fighting broke out at around 2 p.m. yesterday when a team of Army Scout Rangers chanced upon an NPA band in Barangay Simulao, Boston, Davao Oriental.
Rico identified the wounded soldier as Pfc. Richie Olaguer. – Jaime Laude
