Investigation ordered on shabu lab in P'panga

- Ric Sapnu, -

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Chief Superintendent Errol Pan, Central Luzon police director, on Thursday ordered a full-dressed investigation on the discovery of a shabu laboratory in Barangay Consuelo, Floridablanca.

Pan in a text message to newsmen said that he will order the conduct of a thorough investigation into alleged investment of policemen in Floridablanca and barangay officials who were allegedly in cahoots, if not protecting the illegal drug trade.

Earlier, Pampanga police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency raided a suspected shabu laboratory in Barangay Consuelo being operated by three Chinese nationals identified as Peter Pei, Caroline Dy and Eugene Bao.

A P1.4 million worth of chemical substances such as chloroform, pyridine and other drug precursors and several equipment used in manufacturing shabu were confiscated by the raiding team, said Pan.

Senior Superintendent Keith Ernald Singian, Pampanga provincial police director, told reporters that as of Thursday they could not get a search warrant to the two padlocked buildings.

The search warrant was supposed to be issued by a local judge in Guagua, Pampanga, he said.

Singian said that since they have been able to confiscate shabu ingredients and other equipment in manufacturing shabu he had already ordered to secure the area while waiting for a search warrant to be issued by a judge.
