Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna – A 44-year-old policeman was gunned down during a verbal tussle with two men over a vehicular accident in Naic, Cavite Saturday night, authorities said.
Chief Inspector Ruben Lacuesta, Naic police chief, identified the victim as PO3 Cesar Perillo, assigned to the intelligence office of the municipal police.
Police are now hunting down the two suspects, identified as Ronnie Madlangbayan and Lito Claros, both residents of Barangay Pinagsangahan, Maragondon town.
Police said Perillo’s mini-bus driven by Virgilio Albarico figured in an accident with a Toyota Corolla driven by Madlangbayan along Soriano Highway in Barangay San Roque, Naic at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
The mini-bus was heading toward Tanza town while Madlangbayan was driving toward Maragondon when the two vehicles collided.
Upon learning of the accident, Perillo rushed to the scene and had a verbal tussle with Madlangbayan and Claros who were armed with a 9-mm pistol and a caliber .38 revolver.
At the height of the argument, the suspects allegedly pulled out their guns and shot Perillo twice before escaping aboard a motorcycle, which they seized from its owner.
Perillo died while being treated at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital.
