A 58-year-old Japanese female diver died while scuba diving together with her husband and fellow Japanese off Balicasag Island in Panglao, Bohol last Sunday, reports reaching Camp Crame said.
After several minutes of diving, police said an instructor noticed the victim, Michiyo Higaki, to be going deeper, prompting the former to hold and float her back. But she made a hand signal that she was okay.
But after a few minutes, Higaki’s companions saw her no longer moving, prompting them to rush her to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
