CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A 40 year-old trader was killed in an ambush by two motorcycle-riding armed men along Barangay Osorio, Trece Martirez City,  Cavite, police report said.

Senior Inspector Pamela Helaga, Calabarzon police spokeswoman, said the slain trader, Aladin Pacheco, of Barangay Luciano, was driving his Nissan Terrano (RDT-552) when his car was riddled with bullets by two suspected hired killers at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Helaga said Pacheco who was wounded alighted from his car and tried to escape by crawling in a vacant lot but he was cornered by the gunmen and shot him several times.

PO1 Johny Nuñez, who was handling the case, said the victim had dropped his friend at their house and was just 200 to 300 meters away as he was approaching Barangay Osorio when he was waylaid by the suspects.

Several bystanders brought Pacheco to General Aguinaldo Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds in his body.        Ed Amoroso
