Marawi City – Two professors of Mindanao State University here were kidnapped on Thursday by still unidentified men and are believed being held captive in the hinterlands of a municipality in Lanao del Sur.
On Thursday a passenger jeepney, with students and some members of the faculty of MSU on board, was bound for Iligan City when armed men stopped the vehicle at the junction of Piagapo, Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur, at about 4:30 p.m. and ordered all those in the vehicle to alight.
The armed men checked the identification cards of the students and the two professors but singled out the latter to transfer to a get-away vehicle.
The two were identified as Sherwin Nacua, 43, a professor of the College of Sciences and Humanities and Perselindo Dingding, 53, of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
The students, numbering 26, were left behind while the two professors were brought by the armed men on board the get-away vehicle and headed toward the hinterlands of Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur. – Lino de la Cruz
