Artist sketch of suspect  in Laguna ‘kidnap’ released

-

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police yesterday released an artist sketch of one of two suspects in the “kidnapping” of a sister-in-law of Laguna Vice Gov. Ramil Hernandez in Calamba City last Friday.

Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas Jr., Laguna police director, described the suspect as at least 36 years old, 5’6” to 5’7” tall, and has muscular build and dark complexion.

Rojas said the Hernandez family finally had a meeting with police and appealed to the media to disseminate the suspect’s artist sketch.

Two men seized Hernandez’s sister-in-law Jocelyn, 32, in front of the Asian Computer College in Calamba City last Friday morning.

Police said she was to enroll her daughter at the computer school when the two men tried to snatch her bag.

Reports said one of the two men armed with a knife punched the victim on the abdomen when she refused to let go of her bag and dragged her to a tricycle.

Witnesses said the suspects fled toward Barangay Batino, leaving the victim’s daughter behind.

Superintendent Nestor de la Cueva, Calamba police chief, said they still continue to investigate the incident, adding though that it was not a kidnapping case as there was still no ransom demand.

Rojas concurred, saying the incident does not fit the profile of a kidnap-for-ransom case.

In a cell phone interview with The STAR, Hernandez appealed to the public to provide information on the whereabouts of his sister-in-law.
