Couple killed in Batangas ambush

-

Batangas – A 47-year-old man was killed together with his pregnant wife when they were ambushed by an unidentified man while on their way home in Rosario, Batangas Friday morning, police said.

Chief Inspector Ruperto Hupida, Rosario PNP chief identified the victims as spouses Hilario and Nenita Inandan, residents of Barangay Bagong Pook, Rosario, Batangas.

According to report, the couple were onboard a black motorcycle (DR-4377) and cruising along the barangay road in Barangay Bagong Pook when a lone gunman also onboard a motorcycle tailed them around 9 a.m.

Upon reaching a secluded area, the gunman fired several shots towards the couple hitting Hilario five times in the body while Nenita was hit twice in her head with bullets from a .45 caliber pistol, causing their instantaneous death.

The suspect escaped toward an unknown direction. A manhunt operation was ordered by Senior Superintendent David Quimio, Batangas police chief, against the suspect.

Probers theorized that a land dispute could have triggered the killing of the couple.    – Arnell Ozaeta
