SC staff dies of accidental shooting in Laguna
Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna – A 60-year old Supreme Court employee was killed when he was accidentally shot by his visitor while celebrating his birthday in Sta. Cruz, Laguna Saturday afternoon, police said.
Senior Superintendent Felipe Rjas Jr. Laguna police director identified the victim as Leon Matienzo, resident of Sitio Rose, Barangay San Jose, Sta Cruz , Laguna and working as process server at the Supreme Court.
According to report, Matienzo together with his visitors were having a drinking session inside his house when one of his friends, Feliciano Cambel stepped out of the house with his gun and fired several shots toward the bush. After the shooting, Cambel went back to the house while holding his handgun in front of Matienzo and other visitors when it went off after he accidentally pulled the trigger. – Arnell Ozaeta
