Soldiers, police honored

-

DAVAO CITY – President Arroyo commended several soldiers and policemen here in Southern Mindanao for their heroic acts that made significant contribution in the government’s campaign against insurgency and terrorism.

Army Lt. Col. Ricardo Santiago and Maj. Rolando Rodil, commanders of the 10th Infantry Division’s 27th Infantry Battalion and 25th Infantry Battalion, respectively, personally received from the President earlier this week their plaques of appreciation for their achievement.

Santiago was cited for the neutralization of New People’s Army leader Catalino Tacadao, secretary of the rebels’ Far South Mindanao Region command in South Cotabato late last year.

Rodil was also cited for leading the operation in the capture of Indonesian national Mohammad Baehaque, a suspected leader of the Al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah international terrorist network in Banaybanay, Davao Oriental on Feb. 17.  – Edith Regalado
