4 teens dead, 8 hurt in Laguna road mishap

Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna – Four teenagers were killed while eight of their companions were injured when their vehicle smashed into an electric post in Famy, Laguna Saturday night, police said 

Senior Superintendent Fe­lipe Rojas Jr., Laguna police director, identified the fatalities as Irene Pagala­nan, 14; Kristine Joy Abusejo, 15; Miko Gagarin, 14; and a certain Michelle.

Injured were Rodolfo Sulapco Jr. 18; Aj Agarao, 22; Jay-Kell Canlas, 22; Jonathan Canlas, 18; Johndy Enri­quez, 23; Mark Angelo Torsellino, 17; Mark Joseph Bermudez; and Ira Dalhag, 14.

Police said the group had come from a birthday party in Mabitac town and were on their way home to Sta. Cruz aboard a Mitsubishi Adventure when they met the accident along the national highway in Barangay Batuhan, Famy town.

Driver Rodolfo Sulapco Jr. said he was about to overtake a car when he lost control of the steering wheel upon reaching a sharp curve, causing the vehicle to smash into the electric post. – Arnell Ozaeta, Ed Amoroso
