BALANGA CITY- Police authorities here have organized crack teams to arrest other members of the kidnap for ransom (KFR) syndicate led by an alleged Indian religious leader who was apprehended on Sunday morning in his residence in Quezon City.
Senior Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan, Bataan police director, told The STAR that law-enforcement agents are now scouring possible hideouts of the notorious “9M Gang” composed of Indian nationals and Filipinos preying on Indian businessmen in Metro Manila and Central Luzon.
Intelligence police teams were also dispatched to Metro Manila areas to determine the group’s modus operandi which the victims for several years left unexposed fearing reprisals from the dreaded syndicate.
Gaerlan said the arrest of suspected mastermind, Darshan Sandhu or Gurdashan Singh,50, a Punjabi, of #22-C Tagdalit St. Barangay Manresa, Quezon City had uncovered several unsolved kidnappings and killings of Indian nationals in Metro Manila and Central Luzon for the past years.
