Police anti-narcotics agents arrested a Taiwanese allegedly being involved in drug trafficking in Kawit, Cavite last Friday night.
The suspect was identified as Ong Chen Chan alias Jason Chan.
Director Jefferson Soriano, chief of the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force, said Ong was arrested at around 8:10 p.m., during an entrapment operation at the Leisure Park in Barangay Polborista in Kawit.
Seized from the suspect were one plastic containing 200 grams of metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and boodle money worth P520,000.
Soriano said they are presently conducting a follow-up investigation in coordination with the Presidential Drug Enforcer Agency (PDEA) and foreign counterparts to determine Chan’s supplier and financier.
Soriano said drug trafficking charges have been filed against the suspect at the prosecutor’s office of Cavite. – With Arnell Ozaeta
