Bedol seen in Davao City malls?

-

DAVAO CITY – Fugitive former Maguindanao election supervisor Lintang Bedol was reportedly seen several times in different shopping malls here, sources said.

Bedol, according to the sources, has been casually going around not only in shopping centers but also in entertainment establishments despite the arrest warrant against him.

“I saw him a number of times in the mall in the northern part of the city,” one of them told The STAR.

It was in a hospital here where Bedol, one of those tagged in the “Hello Garci” controversy, was arrested in August last year for his alleged involvement in irregularities in the May 14, 2007 elections.

Bedol posted P15,000 bail upon his arrest, but refused to take responsibility for the loss of election documents in Maguindanao.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) cited him for contempt for failing to appear before it to explain why the alleged ballot boxes were missing.

The poll body approved last month a resolution asking the Philippine National Police to relieve Chief Superintendent Joel Goltiao from his post as Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) police director for failing to arrest Bedol.
