Boat captain, crewman found dead

-

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The decomposing bodies of a boat captain and one of his crewmen were found floating off the coasts of Gloria and Pinamalayan towns in Oriental Mindoro Thursday morning, or six days after they were reported missing, police said.

Senior Superintendent Agrimero Cruz, Oriental Mindoro police director, said the bodies of Elmo Atiga, 53, and Michael Flores, 36, captain and oiler, respectively, of M/V Tugboat, bore multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the victims were last seen having an argument with a certain PO1 Rico Garcia and former policeman-turned-mayor’s aide Gerwin Jaminola last Jan. 19 in the house of one Oscar Delacion in Barangay Pili, Pinamalayan town. – Arnell Ozaeta
