Cops block farmers in Tagaytay
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Around 50 members of a farmers’ group were blocked by Tagaytay policemen Thursday afternoon while on their way to Manila supposedly to join the commemoration of the EDSA Revolt.
Arman Arbarillo, Bayan-Southern Tagalog spokesman, said they were also supposed to join their colleagues in marking the so-called “Mendiola massacre.”
Arbarillo said they converged in Nasugbu, Batangas and were passing by Tagaytay when they were blocked at the city’s boundary with Alfonso town.
The farmers decided to conduct a program in the middle of the road, but were later allowed to pass through but on a different route. – Arnell Ozaeta
