2 HMB rebels nabbed

CAMP OLIVAS, Pam­panga  –  Police have arrested two suspected extortionists identifying themselves as members of “Huk­bong Mapagpalayang Bayan (HMB),  a break-away group of the New People’s Army during an entrapment operations in a restaurant in  Barangay Sindalan, San Fer­nando, Pampanga, over the weekend.

Senior Superintendent Jessie Cardona, Regional Mobile Group (RMG3) director, identified the arrested suspects as Ewilfredo Es­guerra and Junmar Dum­lao, both residents of Pampanga.

Cardona said the suspects were immediately collared by RMG3 operatives during a pay-off at the Borbon’s Restaurant in Barangay Sindalan during an entrapment operations.

 Cardona said that a certain Ruveneer Salon, human resource administrative officer of Central Country Estate asked an assistance about the extortion threat letters of the HMB headed by a certain “R.”

The group, Cardona said had already demanded P10,000 three times from the victim that started last August 2007.
