‘Prevent Egyptian from leaving RP’
COTABATO CITY – Police have asked the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to prevent Egyptian preacher Mohammed Al-Sayyid Ahmed Musa from leaving the country pending the outcome of the criminal case against him in connection with his alleged stockpiling of materials for homemade bombs in his residence here.

Musa, also known as Mohamad Sayed, was arrested two weeks ago by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) during a dawn raid on his rented apartment here, not far from the Mahad Islamic School where he worked.
The raiding team claimed to have seized from Musa’s house bomb-making materials and an improvised explosive device fashioned from a 60-mm mortar projectile attached to a battery-operated, time-delayed blasting mechanism.
Investigators said they acted on a tip that Musa was allegedly planning to use the improvised explosive during an attack on one of the Christian worship places here on Christmas day.
Also seized from Musa’s room was a booklet on the organization of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, which has ongoing peace talks with the government.
