Bataan eyes 1.5-M visitors in 3 years

- Raffy Viray -

BALANGA CITY – About 1.5 million local and foreign visitors are expected to enjoy their stay in Bagac town, 27 kms. away from this City, the province’s premier tourist destination where world-class beach resorts are located with the on-going upgrading of road network, beach facilities and communication system.

The municipal government has allocated P9 million for the improvement of roads leading to the coastal villages, strong information campaigns and building of amenities for visitors.

Lorelly del Rosario, wife of Bagac Mayor Ramil and concurrent chair of the Bagac town Tourism Council, said the municipal government is embarking on massive rehabilitation of historical sites, development of three waterfalls and other nature’s trekking attractions for visitors.

Del Rosario said she is coordinating with Vicky Garcia, chairperson of the Bataan Tourism Council Foundation and the Department of Tourism to undertake exhaustive research and evaluation of the present tourist resources and facilities to lure 1.5 million tourists in three years.

The Bagac town Tourism Council chair said the 50 km. coastline of the resort and recreational town of Bataan should be fully-harnessed by making massive progress of its present beach resorts and to encourage investments in tourism to be at par with other resorts in neighboring ASEAN countries.
