Son hacks father to death
BANGUED, Abra – The body of a 75-year-old man was severely hacked after his own son axed him to death yesterday in Barangay Lun-luno, Luba, Abra.
Reports received by Senior Superintendent Alex Pumecha, police director, the body of Blas Tibnagen, widower was mangled and was almost unrecognized by their relatives due to several hack wounds inflicted by his own son Villamor Tibnagen, a farmer, also of the same barangay.
Pumecha said his men tried to rescue the victim but he was already dead from several hack wounds in the body.
According to the police, days before the hacking incident, the suspect had attempted to commit suicide several times, because relatives and neighbors said he is suffering from mental illness.
However, the suspect was not brought immediately to jail since his relatives and the Council of elders tried to settle the case amicably. – Myds Supnad
