Homeowners set to file estafa against ex-Bataan officials

-

BALANGA CITY – Sixty-five buyers of a controversial P250 million government low-cost housing project in the upland village of Gugo, Samal town, this province, are set to file multiple estafa and malversation cases against a president and general manager and two staff of a dummy corporation for allegedly pocketing some P 3.6 million collections intended for equity and monthly amortizations to PagIBIG Fund.

Lawyer Aurelio Angeles Jr. chief, Bataan provincial legal office, said that members of Bataan Peninsula Heights Homeowners Association led by James Pagaduan sought the help of Gov. Enrique Garcia Jr., Wednesday, to provide them legal assistance to pursue their claims against lawyer Renato Bagay, president and general manager; Connie Balmaceda and May Bamba, both administrative staff of the Bataan Provincial Development Corp. organized on Sept. 18,2000.

Angeles said the buyers are “ now in quandary since the three officials issued provisional receipts which are not accountable forms and the collections were not remitted to the provincial treasury office.”    – Raffy Viray
