Video karera, fruit game machines destroyed

-

BALANGA CITY – Police authorities here have destroyed 23 video game machines known as ‘one armed bandit’ in a helipad of Camp Cirilo Tolentino, police provincial headquarters, over the weekend.

The ceremonial burning of video game machines were attended by Balanga City Bishop Socrates Villegas, Bataan Gov. Tet Garcia, Napolcom’s Ruben delos Santos, local government representatives, DepEd officials and Ester Paguio, acting provincial administrator, police officers and media.

In his report here, Senior Superintendent Odelon Garrido Ramoneda, Bataan provincial police director, led the destruction and burning of 23 video karera and fruit game machines.

The confiscation of the illegal machines is in line with the directive of Chief PNP, Director General Avelino Razon Jr. to eliminate all forms of illegal gambling especially those victimizing innocent minors.

Ramoneda said that the series of confiscation of the machines were made possible by information from concerned citizens in the province thru the launching of the “Barkadahan sa Mamamayan,” a pilot project of the Bataan police with the aim of soliciting the active participation of the citizenry in reporting.   – Ric Sapnu, Raffy Viray
