Korean trader killed in road accident

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A Korean businessman was killed after he was hit by an aircon passenger bus along the national highway in Barangay Bagong Kalsada, Calamba City, reports said.

The victim  Kwang Yoon Kho, 62, a Korean national and presently residing in Sta Fe, Barangay Bagong Kalsa­da, was dead on the spot because of the  strong impact.

The driver of the HM Bus lines identified as Edelber Monteagundo, 50, resident of Majayhay, Laguna immediately escaped after the incident. He is now the subject of a manhunt by the Calamba Traffic Management operatives.

Traffic police investigators on case said the victim  was on his way home and crossing in front of the Jonel Spring Resort when the Manila-bound bus bumped him at around 8 a.m. on Friday

The suspect abandoned his bus and fled towards Calam­ba City.

The responding policemen conducted a hot pursuit operation, but they failed to arrest Monteagundo. Police immediately filed charges of homicide against Montea­gundo. – Ed Amoroso, Arnell Ozaeta
