CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Amway Philippines, a global direct-selling company providing Amway business opportunity to Filipinos since 1997 yesterday announced the expansion of its One by One Campaign for children of the south by partnering with the South City Central School in this City of Golden Friendship.
The One by One Campaign for Children is Amway Corp.’s global initiative to improve the well-being of young people all around the globe. In the Philippines, Amway has made a commitment to help address the alarming decline in reading ability and literacy among children in the country, particularly in public schools. The program is aimed at providing an interactive and exciting way of teaching students to read and learn good values from children’s stories.
“Amway is not all about business. We also strive to contribute to the communities where we operate. Cagayan de Oro is one of our fastest- growing markets and we want to make sure that we are doing our part in enriching the lives of the Cagayan De Oro community, especially the children,” says Ador Bonquin, Amway Philippines country manager.
“A library is a very important component of the school. This is where children can feed their minds and souls. It is our hope that the newly renovated library and the One by One Campaign for the Children Storytelling Corner will encourage more children to go to the library to develop the love and appreciation for reading and learning,” Bonquin said.
“We are very happy that Amway has chosen South City Central School for its One by One Campaign. It is truly a blessing to have our library finally renovated and to have a very nice reading corner. We are very excited for our students who will now get the opportunity to learn new things and explore their imagination outside of the formal classroom environment,” said Romeo Tambeling, principal of South City Central School.
