PMA celebrate 109 years as military institution
FORT DEL PILAR, Baguio City - The Philippine Military Academy, the country and Asia's premier military training instiution will celebrate its 109th Foundation anniversary on Saturday with the theme "Instituting a Solid Foundation to Mold Leaders for our Nation."
Tracing its historical roots from the Academia Militar, the PMA was set up during the Revolutionary Government by the First Philippine President Emilio Aguinaldo on the 25th of October 1898 in Malolos, Bulacan.
It has since evolved into a dynamic and relevant military school and currently in the transformation process with its 10-year strategic plan-the PMA Road 2015, said PMA Superintendent Maj. General Leopoldo Maligalig.
Under the roadmap, the Academy envisions itself to be the country's premier leadership school producing military professionals of character, dedicated to protect and help build the nation by 2015. Artemio Dumlao
