Police rescue Mindoro dentist 12 hours after abduction

Police on Wednesday managed to rescue a dentist in Mindoro after the latter was abducted from his house the day before by armed men.

The victim, Dr. Gregorio Hora, 48, of Victoria Town, was rescued by members of the police in nearby Najuan just before 12 noon.

Hora had been abducted by seven men around 8 p.m. yesterday after arriving at his house.  The men first dragged Hora inside his house at gunpoint to steal his valuables before carrying him off in their vehicle.

The kidnappers later called up Hora's spouse, Victoria, and asked for P3 million in ransom.
